Big 9 allergens
SafeBite checks US packaged foods against the nine major allergens used on US labels. Results are highlights from catalog data — not a medical diagnosis.
The nine
- Milk
- Egg
- Fish
- Shellfish
- Tree nuts
- Peanuts
- Wheat
- Soy
- Sesame
Three statuses
- Contains — mapped data indicates the allergen is in the product.
- May contain — mapped data indicates a trace or shared-facility style warning. See what “may contain” means.
- Unknown — we do not have a mapped status. This is not “safe” or “free of” that allergen.
Not medical advice. Always verify the physical package label. Missing allergen data is unknown — never treat unknown as safe or allergen-free.
